View Clutch ProfileA Canadian web development company in everything but the postcode. We have designed, built and scaled digital products for Canadian businesses since 2014: websites and web apps, eCommerce on Shopify and Magento, custom software and AI automation. Interac at checkout, HST and GST handled by province, and SEO tracked on google.ca rather than global rankings.
Fill this in and a developer picks it up directly - not a sales rep, not a bot. If it's a straightforward project, we'll usually have a quote back to you the same day.
Brands & Businesses We've Built For
If your checkout doesn't show Interac, a chunk of your traffic just won't buy. HST in Ontario is not the same as GST + PST in BC. And ranking on google.ca takes a different approach than global SEO. These aren't edge cases - they're the foundation, and we get them right before launch.
Interac comes up in almost every project. It's not optional for many buyer segments in Canada - especially outside major urban centres. If it's missing at checkout, you'll see cart abandonment that's hard to diagnose because it doesn't show up as a clear drop-off reason.
Tax is the other one. Ontario charges HST, BC charges GST + PST, Quebec has its own QST, and Alberta has no provincial sales tax at all. Get it wrong and you're either overcharging customers or under-collecting for CRA. We configure this correctly at build time.
We've worked with stores in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and smaller markets. Bilingual product pages for Quebec, Canada Post rate calculation at checkout, BNPL options that actually work in Canada - these go into every project by default, not as an afterthought.
We wire up the full Canadian payment stack during the build, not as a post-launch add-on. BNPL options surface at product and cart level - that's where they reduce sticker shock, not buried at the final checkout step where it's too late.
A .ca domain, Canadian-specific schema markup, and bilingual keyword intent all factor into how you rank on google.ca. We don't repurpose a US SEO strategy and call it done - we build for the Canadian search landscape and report on it separately from global rankings.
We set up CRA-compliant tax rules during the build - not after you've been live for three months and someone notices the numbers are off. Each province is configured correctly from day one, including Quebec's QST and Alberta's no-PST rules.
Live carrier rates pulled directly from the API, so your customers see the actual shipping cost before they commit. We also build in fallback logic - if Canada Post's API goes down at 11pm on Black Friday, your checkout doesn't go down with it.
AI development, custom software, and eCommerce on every major platform, plus google.ca SEO and CRO. The same team from scope to launch to support, so nothing gets lost in a handoff.
Put AI to work on the tasks draining your team: support triage, quote generation, content, and data entry. We build assistants and automations that cut manual hours and scale without new headcount.
AI ServicesWeb apps, portals, and internal tools built around how your business actually runs. Replace spreadsheets and disconnected systems with software that reduces errors and gives your team hours back every week.
Custom SoftwareStorefronts that convert more of the traffic you already pay for. Custom themes, Shopify Plus automation, and headless Hydrogen builds, with Interac and Afterpay CA wired in so Canadian shoppers actually check out.
Shopify ServicesEnterprise commerce that scales with your catalogue instead of straining against it. B2B portals, ERP integration, and Adobe Commerce builds that automate manual ordering and support high-volume selling across provinces.
Magento ServicesContent-led stores that turn organic traffic into revenue. Bilingual WooCommerce builds with the full Canadian payment and Canada Post stack, and CRO-tested checkout tuned for how Canadians actually buy.
WordPress ServicesSub-second storefronts that lift conversion and lower ad costs. Headless React and Next.js front ends on a Canadian CDN, connected to Shopify, Magento, or any backend by API, for teams where speed is the priority.
Headless DevelopmentMore qualified traffic from google.ca, and more of it converting. Technical SEO, bilingual English and French keyword strategy, and CRO built around how Canadians browse and buy, reported on google.ca rankings, not global averages.
SEO & CRO ServicesA faster store that ranks higher, costs less to advertise, and loses fewer buyers at the product page. Core Web Vitals audits, 90+ PageSpeed scores, and mobile-first optimisation for Canadian 4G and 5G networks.
Speed OptimisationFrom regulated sectors to high-volume retail, we bring the domain context, not just the code, to Canadian businesses.

This page covers how we work with Canadian clients generally. These go deeper on the three markets where most of our Canadian work sits, and on the cities we get the most enquiries from.
Industry
Subscription billing that finance does not have to correct by hand, getting an MVP ready to carry real customers, and the retention work that is worth building.
Industry
Shopify against Magento for Canadian retail, multi-vendor marketplace architecture, and bilingual storefronts that work past the homepage.
Industry
Delivery windows backed by real picking capacity, location-aware storefronts, near-live inventory and cold chain handling.
Architecture
When decoupling earns its keep, when a theme rebuild is the cheaper route to the same outcome, and the three-year cost model behind both.
City
Web development for Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham and Vaughan, on Eastern hours with CAD pricing.
We also deliver into Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Montreal. Alberta food and grocery briefs are covered on the grocery and F&B page, and Quebec projects carry a French language requirement across the product, not only the marketing pages. Our offices and delivery locations page shows where the team actually sits.
We pick the stack that fits your goals and your team, then build on it to enterprise standards.
The most common thing we hear from new clients: their last agency was impressive in the pitch and went quiet after the contract. These are the four things we do differently, and we mean all of them.
We're available during Canadian business hours. If you send something at 2 PM Toronto time, you hear back before end of day. Not the next morning. Not from a ticketing system.
We write out exactly what we're building, in Canadian dollars, and you sign off before a line of code is written. If something comes up that changes the scope, we talk about it - we don't just add it to the invoice.
Every fortnight you get access to the actual, working build in staging. Not a Figma prototype, not a percentage tracker - something you can click through, test, and give feedback on while there's still time to act on it.
Source code, repo access, DNS credentials, hosting logins - all handed over in writing at project kickoff, not held until final payment. You're never dependent on us to get your own files.
Average results across our projects
Written to be useful even if you hire someone else. Searching for the best web development company in Canada returns a list of agencies who each paid to be on it, which tells you nothing. These are the questions that actually separate them.
The person on your sales call is frequently not on the delivery team, and at larger agencies the work is subcontracted again. Ask to meet the engineer who will build it, before you sign. A partner who will not arrange that is telling you something.
A fixed price with an open scope is not a fixed price. Get the scope in writing, get the change-request rate in writing, and ask directly what has caused overruns on their last three projects. Vague answers here predict expensive months later.
Some agencies retain the repository, the hosting account or the domain as leverage for a maintenance contract. You want ownership of all three stated plainly in the agreement, along with a handover that includes documentation written for a developer who was not on the build.
Interac at checkout, HST against GST plus PST against QST by province, Canada Post rates for remote postal codes, French for Quebec, and PIPEDA or Law 25 obligations. A partner who treats these as post-launch configuration has not built for this market before.
An agency that agrees with everything is selling, not advising. The useful partner will tell you when headless is the wrong call, when a rebuild is cheaper than a migration, or when your budget is better spent on traffic than on the site.
Find out what is covered free, what a retainer costs, how quickly a genuine production bug gets picked up, and whether you are locked in. The answer separates a build shop from a partner, and you only find out the hard way if you do not ask.
Our answers, for comparison
We are the offshore column, so read this knowing that. We have still tried to describe the other two as their clients experience them, because the wrong choice here costs more than the rate difference ever saves.
| Onshore (Canada) | Nearshore (Latin America) | Offshore (India and Asia) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical senior rate | $120 to $250 CAD per hour | $60 to $120 CAD per hour | $35 to $75 CAD per hour |
| Live overlap with Toronto | Full working day | Most of the working day | Three to five hours, if the partner schedules for it |
| In-person possible | Yes | Occasionally, with travel | Rarely, and not on short notice |
| Canadian market knowledge | Assumed | Varies, usually learned per project | Varies widely. Ask for specifics, not assurances |
| Procurement friction | Lowest | Moderate | Highest. Expect security review and data residency questions |
| Best suited to | Work needing constant in-person collaboration, or where local supplier rules apply | Long-running product teams where near-full overlap matters more than rate | Defined, scoped builds where senior capacity matters more than proximity |
| Main risk | A twelve week build priced like a permanent hire | Smaller talent pool for specialised stacks | A partner who treats overlap as optional and answers at 3am your time |
The rate is the least interesting number in that table. What actually decides the outcome is whether the partner schedules real overlap with your working day, and whether the scope was pinned down before anyone started building. A cheap team with neither of those costs more than an expensive team with both.
The honest case for engaging us is capacity rather than price. Toronto and Vancouver compete for engineers with New York and the Bay Area, so a senior hire is a large annual commitment plus roughly three months of recruiting. For a twelve week build that maths rarely works, and an external team lets you buy the capacity without attaching a permanent headcount decision to it.
When we say hire onshore instead
We would rather tell you that on the first call than take a project that was always going to disappoint you.
Four steps. A fixed price. No surprises. You see working software every two weeks - not at the end when it's too late to change anything.
We look at your current store, platform, and CA market position. You get a written assessment - not a pitch deck - at no charge.
A detailed Statement of Work with fixed price, fixed timeline, and clear scope. In Canadian dollars. Before anything starts.
Real, clickable software in staging every two weeks. You review, give feedback, and steer the project - not just at the start and end.
Zero-downtime go-live. 30 days of priority bug fixes included. Optional retainer after that - no pressure, no lock-in.
The same discipline whether it is a one-page fix or an enterprise Magento build. Reviewed code, tested releases, and a clean handover, so what you sign off on is exactly what goes live.
Nothing merges without a second engineer reading it first.
Automated tests where they fit, manual QA on staging where they don't.
Every change tracked with full history, handed over to you.
Automated pipelines make releases predictable and repeatable.
You approve the real build in staging before customers ever see it.
Least-privilege access, managed secrets, and dependency patching.
Setup docs, credentials, and a walkthrough so your team is never stuck.
Signed before any sensitive detail is shared, standard on request.
Canadian agencies bring us the builds their roadmap can't absorb. We deliver under your name, under NDA, on your timeline, so you can take on bigger work without growing headcount.
Certified on the platforms your clients run on
We stay invisible. Your client never knows we are involved.
We work in your repos, tools, and process, not the other way around.
Most partners start with one project and keep us on the bench.
Unedited feedback from Clutch and Google reviews.
"We needed a full agency site rebuild and they delivered it properly - fast mobile scores, clean design, and a layout that actually gets enquiries. The conversion improvement was real and showed up in the first month. No fluff, no chasing - they just did the work."
"The B2B Magento 2 portal they built replaced a manual purchasing process that was eating up hours every day. Now it runs largely on its own. Their Magento knowledge went well beyond the basics - when we hit a tricky ERP sync issue, they worked through it instead of pushing it back on us."
"Our WooCommerce store finally works the way it was supposed to. Product filtering is solid, subscriptions run correctly, and the checkout doesn't drop people. The thing I appreciated most was they kept us in the loop throughout - not one of those agencies where you don't hear anything for weeks."
We reply the same day, EST or PST. A straight answer - not a template response and not a call you didn't ask for.
Not a sales rep, not a bot. If we have follow-up questions, you'll hear back from the same person that day.
We talk through where you are, what's not working, and what you're trying to build. We don't do discovery calls that are really just demos.
Scope, price in Canadian dollars, and timeline - in writing before anything starts. You take it or leave it, no pressure.
Tell us what you're working on - a developer reads every message. No auto-replies.
