What does a website UI and UX engagement include?

Discovery and stakeholder interviews, information architecture, wireframes, visual design, and a component library your engineers can build from, rather than a set of flat mockups that leave every interaction state to be guessed at. We design the empty, loading, error and long content states as well as the ideal case, because those are where most implementations diverge from the design. Deliverables are Figma files with a documented structure plus, where we are also building, the corresponding React and Tailwind components. The aim is that nothing important is decided by accident during development.
Do you design and build, or design only?

Both, and they work considerably better together. Designers and engineers sit in the same pod, with Figma libraries mapped one to one onto React and Tailwind component packages, so a design token changing in Figma corresponds to a real change in code rather than a note in a handover document. We do take design only engagements, and when we do we deliver against your existing component conventions and stay available during implementation. The failure mode we are trying to avoid is a beautiful design system that no engineering team ever adopts because it does not match how they actually build.
Will we get a design system?

Yes: tokens for colour, type and spacing, then primitives and patterns in Figma, delivered alongside a versioned React package with documentation in Storybook. The important part is versioning, because a design system that cannot be updated without breaking existing screens gets abandoned within a year. We keep the system deliberately small at the start, since teams maintain a system of thirty well used components far more reliably than one of two hundred, most of which appear once. It should reduce the number of decisions your team makes per screen, not add a compliance burden.
How do you handle accessibility?

WCAG 2.2 AA is our baseline rather than an upgrade you request. That means colour contrast checked at design time rather than corrected afterwards, a sensible heading structure, visible focus states, forms with properly associated labels and error messages, and every interactive element reachable by keyboard. We run axe-core in CI to catch regressions automatically, but automated tools only find part of the problem, so we also test manually with a screen reader and keyboard before release. Designing for it from the start costs very little; retrofitting it into a finished interface is consistently expensive.
